Hundreds gathered at the Roy and Niuta Titus Theater at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art, which is one of the world’s largest museums devoted to modern and contemporary art) this weekend to celebrate the honorees and winners of the second annual NYCxDesign Awards presented by Interior Design and ICFF. Editor in chief Cindy Allen hosted the event, which received over 700 entries.
Some facts about the presenters of NYCxDESIGN Awards should be mentioned.
Interior Design Media is the global, industry-leading design publication, website and events company serving the interior design, architectural and facility management audiences. North America’s premier showcase for contemporary design, the ICFF annually lures those in determined pursuit of design’s timely truths and latest trends to an encyclopedic exhibition of up-to-the-moment offerings, as well as a series of fascinating, fun, edifying programs, and a packed schedule of exhibits and features. ICFF hosts more than 700 exhibitors from more than 30 countries in 11 categories from furniture to materials to kitchen and bath to fabricators.
Entries came from 109 design firms and 210 manufacturers with 60 international companies showing product at NYCxDESIGN.
Winners, who took home a custom prize designed by award sponsor Lladró, were named in over 50 categories across both products and projects on May 20 in a ceremony at the Museum of Modern Art.
In Accessories category the winner was announced, and it happened to be jot.jot brand’s Mudu mirror (by Studio Heima), whereas honorees were Voltasol by Livingthings and Slice by Tothora.

Among the event’s participants were representatives of the world-wide known interior product brands, such as Moroso, Fritz Hansen, Herman Miller, Flos etc.
The captive audience of design industry professionals and their friends were joined by a global audience of thousands via Interior Design’s broadcast on Facebook Live.
